Guide to Make Money Blogging With the Right Keywords

Want to make an extra $1000 each year writing about things you enjoy? It is easy. Simply make $3 per day with a Google Blogspot blog that generates income from affiliate ads and/or contextual advertising. And better yet, you can try this without risking a penny!

Setting up the blog is easy, but that is not the difficult part. Getting traffic is what is challenging! And you will need at least 100 visitors per day to generate a consistent income. Here are the steps you need to take:

  1. First, research keyword phrases using a free keyword tool like the one offered by Wordtracker. Find phrases that show a lot of potential traffic, yet are not already "done to death". By "done to death" I mean that there are not already hundreds of quality sites relating to the keywords. An example of a key phrase being "done to death" is save energy - there are hundreds of extensive sites and blogs on this topic and your chance of getting a high ranking are next to none. The question you must answer here is: Can I beat out the top 10 results listed for searches of the keywords I choose?
  2. Set up a free Google blogspot blog that includes keywords in its title. Better yet, get your own domain name after signing up with Google for $10 per year - this makes it easier for visitors to share the name of your blog with others. If you get your own domain name, include the keywords in the domain - this is very helpful.
  3. Using the keyword tool mentioned in step 1, identify key phrases and then make a point to include these key phrases in your blog posts.
  4. Monetize your blog with affiliate ads or Google AdSense. AdSense is very simple to add to your blog. Once you sign up (free), you can add the money-making ads in a matter of minutes with some simple changes in your settings.
  5. Promote your blog. This is key! And it takes a bit of work. You should get your blog listed in directories, create a facebook page featuring your blog, participate (not spam) in related forums that allow you to include your blog URL in the signature file, trade links with related blogs, and place social bookmarking type "add" buttons like those offered by addtoany.com. Be diligent in your promotion. And be patient!
  6. Most importantly, offer something that others will want to read. Ultimately, if you blog has enough value to readers, it will get traffic.
